Why Does My iPhone Battery Die So Fast?

Your iPhone used to last all day. Now it's dead by lunchtime.

This happens to everyone eventually. And it's usually fixable.

1. Your Screen Is Too Bright

The screen is the biggest battery drain on your iPhone.

If it's set to full brightness all the time, that's why your battery dies fast.

Open Settings → Display & Brightness.

Turn on Auto-Brightness. Your phone will adjust the brightness based on the light around you.

Or just turn the brightness down manually. You probably don't need it that bright.

2. Background Apps Are Running

Apps refresh themselves in the background even when you're not using them.

Facebook, Instagram, Mail — they're all checking for updates constantly.

Open Settings → General → Background App Refresh.

Turn it off completely, or turn it off for apps you don't need updating all the time.

3. Your Battery Is Getting Old

iPhone batteries don't last forever. After a couple of years, they start to wear out.

Open Settings → Battery → Battery Health.

If it says anything below 80%, your battery is degraded. That's why it dies faster.

You can get it replaced at an Apple Store or an authorized service provider.

4. Location Services Are Always On

Some apps track your location constantly. Even when you're not using them.

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Scroll through the list. Change apps from "Always" to "While Using the App" or "Never".

You don't need every app knowing where you are 24/7.

5. You're Using It More Than You Think

Sometimes the battery isn't the problem. You're just using your phone more.

Open Settings → Battery.

Scroll down to see which apps are using the most battery. If TikTok or YouTube is at the top, that's why.

There's nothing wrong with your phone. You're just watching a lot of videos.

6. You Just Updated iOS

If your battery started draining fast right after an iOS update, that's normal. For a few days.

After a big update, your iPhone does a lot of work in the background. Indexing files, updating apps, reorganizing data.

Give it 2-3 days. The battery drain should settle down.

If it's still bad after a week, then it's probably one of the other things on this list.
