These terms govern your use of the SimpleTech.Solutions website and services. By using this website or engaging my services, you agree to these terms.

Please read them carefully. If you don't agree, please don't use the website or services.

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

2. About SimpleTech

SimpleTech.Solutions is operated Jonathan Hanna, a sole trader based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

3. Services Provided

SimpleTech provides personal technology guidance and support, including:

  • Device setup and configuration (phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs)

  • Data transfers (photos, contacts, apps between devices)

  • Security setup (passwords, privacy settings, account security)

  • General technology questions and guidance

  • Family technology guidance through SimpleTech Kids

  • Remote support via phone, video call, or screen sharing

  • In-person support (location dependent, by arrangement)

4. Services NOT Provided

To be clear, SimpleTech does NOT provide:

  • Hardware repairs or physical fixes to devices

  • Software development, coding, or programming

  • Data recovery from damaged, broken, or corrupted devices

  • Network infrastructure setup for businesses

  • Guaranteed fixes for all issues — some problems may be beyond my expertise or control

  • Emergency or 24/7 support

  • On-site visits outside Northern Ireland (unless specifically agreed)

I will always be honest about what I can and can't help with. If something is outside my expertise, I'll tell you upfront.

5. How It Works

  1. You contact me via the website form or email

  2. I reply within 24 hours (weekdays, usually sooner)

  3. We discuss what you need — this initial conversation is free

  4. I confirm the price for the work

  5. I send you a Stripe payment link

  6. You pay upfront

  7. I send you the Google Meet link (for remote) or confirm the appointment (for in-person)

  8. We complete the session

6. Pricing

  • Starting at £40 for up to 45 minutes

  • Longer sessions or complex setups may vary

  • In-person visits may incur additional travel costs depending on location

  • All prices are discussed and agreed BEFORE any paid work begins

  • You will always know the cost upfront — no surprise charges

  • Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise

  • All prices are in GBP (£)

7. Payment

  • Payment is required upfront before any session takes place

  • Once the price is agreed, I will send you a Stripe payment link

  • After payment is received, I will send you the Google Meet link (for remote sessions) or confirm the appointment details (for in-person)

  • I accept payment via Stripe (card) and bank transfer

  • Payment must be received before the session can proceed

8. Cancellation and Refunds

24-Hour Cancellation Policy:

  • You must cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled session

  • Cancellations made 24+ hours in advance: Full refund or reschedule

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before: No refund

  • No-shows: No refund

To cancel:
Email me at hello@simpletech.solutions as soon as possible.

Rescheduling:
If you need to reschedule, contact me at least 24 hours before. I'll do my best to find another time that works.

If I need to cancel:
In the rare event I need to cancel, I will give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund or reschedule.

My commitment:
If you're not happy with the service, tell me. I'll do my best to make it right.

9. Your Responsibilities

By using my services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your devices and issues

  • Back up your data before any work begins — I am not responsible for data loss

  • Be available at agreed times for calls or appointments

  • Provide remote access to devices when needed (with your permission)

  • Pay invoices as agreed

  • Treat me with respect (as I will treat you)

10. My Responsibilities

I agree to:

  • Provide services with reasonable skill and care

  • Be honest about what I can and can't do

  • Respond to messages within 24 hours on weekdays

  • Keep all your information confidential

  • Tell you upfront if I can't help with something

  • Provide clear pricing before work begins

  • Complete work within agreed timeframes where possible

11. Data Backup Warning

IMPORTANT: Always back up your data before any work is carried out on your devices.

While I take every care, technology work carries inherent risks. I am not responsible for any data loss, including but not limited to photos, documents, contacts, messages, or apps.

By proceeding with services, you confirm that you have backed up important data or accept the risk of potential data loss.

12. Limitation of Liability

I will always do my best, but I cannot guarantee every outcome.

I am NOT liable for:

  • Data loss (please back up your devices)

  • Issues caused by third-party software, apps, or services

  • Hardware failures or defects

  • Problems caused by your internet connection or service providers

  • Issues beyond my reasonable control

  • Any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses

  • Loss of profits, business, or anticipated savings

  • Any amount exceeding what you paid for the specific service

Nothing in these terms limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any matter which cannot legally be limited or excluded

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.

13. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this website (text, design, logos, images) is owned by SimpleTech.Solutions unless otherwise stated

  • You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute website content without permission

  • Any guides, documents, or materials I create specifically for you as part of a paid service belong to you once paid for

  • You retain ownership of all your own data, files, and content at all times

14. Confidentiality

I will keep all information you share strictly confidential, including:

  • Personal details

  • Device information and passwords you share for support purposes

  • Any business or personal information discussed

I will only share information:

  • If required by law

  • With your explicit permission

  • With service providers who help deliver services (e.g., Stripe for payments) — and only what's necessary

I recommend you change any passwords shared with me after our work is complete.

15. Remote Access

For some services, I may need remote access to your device via screen sharing.

  • I will only access your device with your explicit permission

  • You can see everything I do in real-time

  • You can end the session at any time

  • I will only access what's necessary to complete the work

  • I will not access personal files, emails, or data unrelated to the work

16. Illegal Activity

If, during the course of providing services, I discover or become aware of any illegal content or activity on your device, I reserve the right to:

  • Terminate the session immediately without refund

  • Refuse to provide any further services

  • Report the matter to the appropriate authorities if required or permitted by law

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — I am legally obligated to report this

  • Evidence of fraud or financial crime

  • Terrorist content

  • Content that constitutes a serious criminal offence

By using my services, you confirm that your devices do not contain illegal content and are not used for illegal purposes.

17. Website Use

By using this website, you agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful purpose

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access

  • Introduce viruses or malicious code

  • Copy or scrape content without permission

I reserve the right to restrict access to the website at any time.

18. Dispute Resolution

If there's a problem:

  2. I'll do my best to resolve the issue informally and fairly

  3. If we can't resolve it, you may use alternative dispute resolution services

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland. The courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction over any disputes.

19. Changes to Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.

For existing clients with ongoing work, I will notify you of significant changes by email.

Continued use of the website or services after changes means you accept the updated terms.

20. Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in full effect.

21. Entire Agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific quotes or agreements, form the entire agreement between us.
